Some quick details about my life and what’s been going on in it:

  1. I found someone I could buy Pokemon Diamond from. Unfortunately, I have to wait until June 15th to make the transaction, since he lives pretty far away.
  2. Homework has been crazy. It’s especially strange because it usually begins to wind down at this point, and the amount has remained pretty constant. Which brings me to my next point:
  3. On Friday, I will only have a week of school left! I’m planning on getting a job over the summer so I can purchase some items I’ve had my eye on for some time, but have not had the money to afford.
  4. I’ve still been playing Risk, but I’m not doing as well. I really need to look at what the other players are doing, but I still think taking Australia is a good move to start with.

New #1 on my list of incredibly creepy euphemisms for having sex that will ensure years of involuntary celibacy: “practice making a baby”.

We continue to lie to ourselves every day. The US public barely understands the first thing about the energy predicament we’re in, and what it means for how we live in this country — or how we get along with the rest of the world — and the news media tragically reflects that ignorance. We fantasize about being “energy independent” and still being able to drive to the mall three times a day to eat caesar salads grown on the other side of North America. Get this: we deserve exactly what is happening to us. We might as well keep on lying to ourselves to pretend that we are not descending into a dark phase of our own history. After all, the true basis of American life these days is to feel good about yourself no matter what you do.

To anyone that may need this advice:

Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT make dead baby jokes to the parents of a newborn.

That is all.

In school, our AP American History teacher has a Risk game board that I and some of my classmates play on. I’m new at it, but I’ve been getting better—Because of me, one player was already taken out of North America in this game, but the player with black pieces said he plans on taking Australia.
I own Australia.
Now, to get that many pieces, he had to put down everything he had in reinforcements, but I don’t want him getting any more. I’ll see how this turns out tomorrow…

Every time you sniff and say somebody has ‘too much free time,’ the part of you that used to love making things for pure joy dies a little.
