So, I recently tried out Mixx, and I have to say, it’s looking to be a lot better than Digg.

Pros:

1. Local flavor. You can input your zip code and Mixx will give stories that are relevant to your area.
2. Personalized homepage. Mixx takes a further step than Digg by letting you add categories, tags, friend activity, and a whole lot more to your homepage. Huge bonus points here. It really helps finding more content that you like.
3. More focus on submitting stories. Encouraging user participation is always a plus.
4. The pages load without the browser crashing.

Cons:

1. Finding things “on deck” (what seems to be the equivalent to Upcoming on Digg) is a bit harder, but bearable.
2. No comment threading. How can you live without it?

Even if there are cons, there is no way that they could outweigh the obvious pros. Go Mixx!
