i don’t think i post enough. what’s the point of having a blog if i simply fall out of blogging every other month?

well, i may even drop this thing completely (unintentionally) depending on the workload at Antonelli. we’ll see how things go. still, it should be exciting.

in other news, since i’m getting ready for art school, i picked up a macbook pro (which came with a free ipod touch). definitely a nice piece of lappy goodness. with any luck this bugger will last me through the next couple years (at least until i break down in front of a touch-enabled pad).

also gurren lagann is awesome but the censorship and horrible commercial breaks make me dislike the sci-fi channel broadcast. however! blu-ray complete series set will be mine whenever it may arrive to play on my imaginary hdtv and ps3. foolproof plans.

I feel the same way. I’ve stopped blogging completely just because I share things on Google Reader, Friendfeed, or Digg. Since I hardly ever put opinions in blog posts, or have the time to write them, this has fallen out of use as well.

I have come up with an idea that might get me writing again, but I’ll probably only start doing it once school starts. Stay tuned.

"After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul, and you..."

“After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul, and you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning and company doesn’t mean security, and you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts and presents aren’t promises, and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child. You learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much. So, plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure… that you really are strong, and you really do have worth.”

- Unknown

Fake Door Close Buttons(?)

I was skimming through The Week earlier today when I read that the “door close” buttons on elevators are usually fake:

In most elevators, at least in any built or installed since the early 1990s, the door-close button doesn’t work. It is there mainly to make you think it works.

I must find out if this is true or not.

I found someone I could buy Pokemon Diamond from. Unfortunately, I have to wait until June 15th to make the transaction, since he lives pretty far away.

Homework has been crazy. It’s especially strange because it usually begins to wind down at this point, and the amount has remained pretty constant. Which brings me to my next point:

On Friday, I will only have a week of school left! I’m planning on getting a job over the summer so I can purchase some items I’ve had my eye on for some time, but have not had the money to afford.

I’ve still been playing Risk, but I’m not doing as well. I really need to look at what the other players are doing, but I still think taking Australia is a good move to start with.

The US public barely understands the first thing about the energy predicament we’re in, and what it means for how we live in this country — or how we get along with the rest of the world — and the news media tragically reflects that ignorance. We fantasize about being “energy independent” and still being able to drive to the mall three times a day to eat caesar salads grown on the other side of North America. Get this: we deserve exactly what is happening to us. We might as well keep on lying to ourselves to pretend that we are not descending into a dark phase of our own history. After all, the true basis of American life these days is to feel good about yourself no matter what you do.”

- Jim Kunstler

To anyone that may need this advice:

Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT make dead baby jokes to the parents of a newborn.

I’m new at it, but I’ve been getting better—Because of me, one player was already taken out of North America in this game, but the player with black pieces said he plans on taking Australia.

I own Australia.

Now, to get that many pieces, he had to put down everything he had in reinforcements, but I don’t want him getting any more.
We’ve been pretty good friends and have seen many good days. I remember posting status updates to you often, informing my friends about what I’m doing and holding fascinating conversations with them. I really felt that the relationship between us was going to be forever.

But lately, you’ve been acting funny, and I’ve been able to tolerate most of it. Your servers have been going down and your IM client has stopped working, but I believed you when you said that you would be in shape very soon. But when I heard the news that another of your servers crashed, and discovered that you weren’t updating my Facebook status, I knew that something was seriously wrong, Twitter. I’m worried about you.

Please don’t think that I’m angry at you—I really want to see you get better. But if you keep on hurting me like this, I’ll have no choice but go to someone else.

You’re great, Twitter, but don’t force me to stop browsing you.

Love,

Michael

(Haha, it’s funny because it makes it seem like Twitter’s a person. But seriously Twitter, get your act together.)
